ChingamMatrimony is a platform dedicated to Hindu Scheduled Tribe communities in Kerala. Both individuals looking for a match and family members registering on behalf of a prospective bride or groom are welcome to join.
How do I create an account?
Click "Register Now" on any page. Enter your email address and choose a password. We will send a verification link to your email — click it to activate your account. Once verified, complete your profile form and pay the one-time registration fee. Your profile then goes to our admin team for review.
Is there an age requirement to register?
Yes. The minimum age to register is 21 years for male members and 18 years for female members. This is enforced at the time of profile submission and verified during manual review.
Do I need to verify my email before I can use the platform?
Yes. Email verification is mandatory. After registration, check your inbox for a verification email and click the link inside. If you did not receive it, use the "Resend Verification" option on the login page. Check your spam or junk folder if the email does not arrive within a few minutes.
Profile & Approval
How long does profile approval take?
Our admin team typically reviews and approves profiles within 24 to 48 hours on working days. You will receive an email notification once your profile is approved or if we need any clarification.
Why was my profile rejected?
Common reasons include incomplete information, a profile photo that does not show the person's face clearly, or details that could not be verified against community norms. The specific reason is included in the rejection email. You can correct the issues and resubmit your profile for review.
Can I edit my profile after it is approved?
Yes. Minor updates — such as changing your bio, career details, or preferences — are applied immediately without affecting your approved status. However, significant changes such as your full name, gender, caste, or date of birth will place your profile back into the pending queue for re-approval. Your existing approved information remains visible to other members until the update is reviewed.
What are the photo guidelines?
Upload a clear, recent photograph of yourself with your face clearly visible. Group photos, heavily filtered images, or photos where your face is obscured are not accepted. Maximum file size is 5 MB. JPG and PNG formats are supported. We store a cropped thumbnail and a full-resolution version securely on our servers.
What information is mandatory on the profile form?
Your full name, gender, date of birth, caste, religion, marital status, height, education level, occupation, district, state, and full address are required. Phone number is also required. These details are needed for manual verification and to enable meaningful matchmaking.
Search & Matching
When can I start searching for matches?
You can browse profiles once your own profile has been approved by our admin team. Search results automatically show opposite-gender, approved profiles. If you are waiting for approval and need early access, please contact our support team.
How does the search and matching work?
Our search engine supports full-text queries along with filters for caste, district, age range, education level, occupation, height, marital status, and more. If you have saved partner preferences, they are applied automatically as defaults — but you can override them for any search. Results always show only approved, active profiles of the opposite gender.
How do I express interest in a profile?
Open a profile and click the "Express Interest" button. The other member receives a notification by email and on the platform. If they accept your interest, both of you will gain access to each other's contact details (phone number and address). You can also shortlist profiles to revisit them later.
Can I see who viewed my profile?
Yes. Your dashboard shows the last 20 unique members who viewed your profile. You can visit their profiles and send interest if you are interested.
Privacy & Contact Details
Why is the phone number hidden on profiles?
Phone numbers, full addresses, and pincodes are hidden by default to protect members from unsolicited contact. These details are only revealed when both parties have an accepted interest — meaning one person sent an interest request and the other accepted it. This ensures contact details are shared only between genuinely interested members.
When exactly can I see someone's contact details?
Contact details become visible on both sides the moment an interest is accepted. Either party can initiate the interest. Once accepted, both members can view each other's phone number and full address directly on the profile page.
How is my personal data protected?
All data is stored on encrypted infrastructure. Sensitive fields (phone number, address, pincode) are never included in search index data or search responses. Passwords are hashed using Argon2, one of the most secure hashing algorithms available. All traffic is served over HTTPS. For full details, read our Privacy Policy.
Photo Privacy
Can I hide my photo from other members?
Yes. You can enable the "Hide Photo" option from your profile settings at any time. When your photo is hidden, other members see a silhouette placeholder instead of your photo. You remain fully discoverable in search, and your profile content is still visible.
Who can see my photo when it is hidden?
Your photo is visible to a member only if one of the following is true: (1) you have an accepted interest with that member, or (2) you have accepted a photo access request from that member. In all other cases, the silhouette placeholder is shown.
How do I request to see someone's hidden photo?
On a profile where the photo is hidden, you will see a "Request Photo Access" button. Clicking it sends a request to the member. If they approve your request, their photo becomes visible to you. The member is notified of your request via the platform.
Payment & Pricing
What is the registration fee and what does it cover?
ChingamMatrimony charges a one-time profile registration fee. This fee covers the cost of manual profile verification by our admin team and ongoing platform maintenance. There are no recurring subscription charges. See our Pricing page for the current fee amount.
What payment methods are accepted?
Payments are processed securely through our payment gateway. Accepted methods include UPI (GPay, PhonePe, Paytm, and others), debit cards, credit cards, net banking, and popular mobile wallets.
Is my payment information stored on your servers?
No. We do not store any card or bank details on our servers. All payment processing is handled by our PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway. We only receive a confirmation of successful payment.
What is the refund policy?
The registration fee is generally non-refundable. Two exceptions: (1) a full refund is available within 5 days of payment — one-time per account, and approving it deactivates your profile; (2) exceptional cases like a duplicate charge may qualify within 14 days. Account Management
How do I reset my password?
On the login page, click "Forgot Password?". Enter your registered email address. We will send you a secure password reset link, valid for 1 hour. Click the link, set a new password, and you are done. For security, all active sessions are signed out after a password reset.
How do I change my email address?
Go to your profile settings and select "Change Email". Enter the new email address. We will send a one-time verification code (OTP) to the new address. Enter the code to confirm the change. All existing sessions will be signed out after the change, and you will need to log in again with the new email.
How do I delete my account?
To request account deletion, email [email protected] from your registered email address. Our team will process your request. Your data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
Can I have multiple accounts?
No. Each person may have only one registered profile. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent any restriction is a violation of our Terms of Service and may result in all associated accounts being permanently suspended.
Safety & Reporting
How do I report a suspicious or fake profile?
Open the profile you want to report and click the "Report Profile" button. Select the most appropriate reason (fake profile, harassment, inappropriate content, spam, or other) and optionally add details. Our moderation team reviews all reports and takes action within 48 hours.
How does ChingamMatrimony ensure profiles are genuine?
Every new profile is manually reviewed by our admin team before it is approved and shown in search results. We verify that the photo shows the actual person, that the information is consistent and plausible, and that community eligibility requirements are met. We also rely on member reports to identify any profiles that slip through or change after approval.
What happens after I report a profile?
Our team reviews the report and may take one of several actions: dismiss the report if no violation is found, contact the reported member for clarification, deactivate the profile pending investigation, or permanently remove the profile. You do not receive a notification about the outcome to protect privacy, but we take all reports seriously.
I am experiencing harassment. What should I do?
First, use the Report button on the offending profile and select "Harassment". For urgent situations, email our privacy team directly at [email protected] with as much detail as possible. We treat harassment reports with the highest priority.
